PREQUAL, developed in 2011 as a joint initiative between IMPAC and a group of New Zealand businesses to:

  • Address industry concerns with approaches to contractor pre-qualification, and
  • Deliver a comprehensive service that adds value to the contractor management process.

To ensure PREQUAL continues to meet the needs of industry. A Steering Group made up of industry representatives (many of whom were involved in the original development) meet regularly to guide the ongoing direction of PREQUAL.

The Steering Group currently consists of senior health and safety and procurement leaders. Leaders from Housing New Zealand, Auckland Council, Refining New Zealand, Air New Zealand, Fonterra, and Meridian Energy.

Our PREQUAL Score is 75. This was issued on the 09/02/2022. This mark is considered the absolute top end on the achievable scale for companies of our type.

ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH PETER HAY KITCHENS

DESIGN

The design has always been an important part of Peter Hay’s production. Striving to meet our customers’ needs on individual projects. Down-to-earth projects aimed at guaranteeing the best function and quality. If it doesn’t work, we will tell you.

Continuous research into style and function. Research lets us deliver successful products for different living spaces. We come up with the best possible approach, from what is on offer.

Modular systems, for instance, are the outcome of constant research. Lines evolve and enrich with new solutions. Designs always stand the test of their own reliability.

TECHNOLOGY

Peter Hay’s operational units work to guarantee the finished article is top quality. We use methods that respect the care of the wood. This combined with continual technical innovation is integrated into our production lines.

Peter Hay’s commercial organisation takes full advantage of networking facilities. We have created a strong supply network. This provides customers with reliability and, at the same time, reasonable delivery times.

MATERIALS

Peter Hay’s selection of high-quality materials for its articles is pivotal. The quality of the raw materials used determines the collection’s aesthetic excellence.

The search for high-quality materials also considers their reliability and longevity. To this end, Peter Hay uses only certified Green First FSC raw wood-based materials.

RELIABILITY

Peter Hay takes great pride in ensuring that its products will stand the test of time. Functioning well and guaranteeing the best quality. Mechanical parts come in for special scrutiny. For example, drawer systems undergo tests for 100,000 cycle openings. Cabinet door hinges tested for 200,000 openings. It is as if you were opening a cupboard 8 times a day, every day for …68 years!

Stone surfaces undergo rigorous testing. This ensures they handle everyday cooking and clean routines. Tests show the superiority and outstanding advantages of our preferred brand Caesarstone. Physical properties, compared with various typical natural stones. Tests performed by Breton spa, Italy.

ENVIRONMENT

Certified suppliers use best practices for the manufacturing of their products. Certifications are globally recognised. This ensures our offerings do not generate any harmful emissions.

Like all raw material sourcing, regeneration of supply is critical. Materials from Green Building Council New Zealand suppliers and are ISO14001 accredited.

Some of our environmental policies are: –

  • Where possible, sourcing raw materials from only local grown forests. Forests have a regeneration program.
  • We work with only local suppliers, thus reducing our CO2 emissions in logistics.
  • For outsourced logistics, trucks only travel full. No return trips empty.
  • Our cardboard packaging is in semi recycled form from new and then recycled once used
  • Raw material waste is 100% recycled where possible
  • The processing of PVC at a special plant, it’s then ground down and used as composite mixed forcoal.
  • Dust disposed of in landfill
  • We promote cleaning of kitchens with warm mild soapy water
